The most abundant and the cleanest form of renewable energy, solar energy, has evolved very much at present. Modern technology provides effective methods to capture solar energy and use it for several purposes. Solar energy can be harnessed through different ways such as heating and cooling systems, photovoltaic cells, lighting, as today’s devices can convert the sun’s light and heat to a form of energy that does not cause pollution. Solar energy devices work by taking advantage of the sun’s position to provide lighting and heating. One of the most important challenges related to solar energy is to low its price to be the same with the traditional fuels.

Using solar energy instead of fuels is one of the most important things in political agenda in many countries that are concerned about pollution. Germany, Spain and China are considered leading solar energy countries. In these states,  solar energy has been encouraged through feed-in-tariffs, convenient prices and special programs. Lately, China is the most important state where solar energy use has developed intensely as there are three important solar power companies. Solar energy development was possible in China due to government subsidies, cost advantages, low rates, free or very cheap land. Today, China is the most important player and producer  in the solar energy field, while American companies have hard competitors now that threaten their solar power industry and products.

If solar energy will start to be more used and appreciated, in the future it may happen a good thing: solar power prices will drop, so more people will have the opportunity to use solar panels to heat their pools, water and light their houses. Our planet will be less polluted and protected, so such an investment is extremely effective. Another advantage of this form of energy is that users will not depend anymore on private energy providers, so they can be sure there will always be energy in their homes.
